2013 West Coast Classic

Life has been crazy busy around here getting ready for the big West Coast Classic this weekend up in Reno. It’s a big quad show weekend that has been lots of fun in the past. But numbers have just exploded this year, each day has well over 5,000 entries! I’m the show chairman for our California Dutch Rabbit club specialty show and just found out we have 64 rabbits and 11 exhibitors in our open show! Yay! Pretty good turn out. We have some really fab awards donated by Samantha Henderson of SS Dutch Rabbitry. We also plan to have an informal meeting and desert social after the show. If you are not a member of the California Dutch Rabbit Club I highly recommend you join. We have a lot specialties planned and we are hoping to make our WCC specialty a big event in preparation for a 2016 National Dutch Show!!!! Please email me if you would like a membership form emailed to you. We’d love to have you come play with us!

2013 Show Season Kick-off

Tomorrow, is the first show of the 2013 season for me. Yesterday, I decided to thoroughly clean and disinfect the carry cages and today I have to load and tattoo bunnies. I don’t have a bunch of new juniors yet, that will change in 2 weeks though for the Stockton show. I do however have 2 promising juniors I’m exicted to put on the table tomorrow. First is this junior polish doe (GC LDR’s Dinky x LDR’s Zoe)

She’s a very promising doe, as she’s got head and body going on! I also have tort dutch buck (GC LDR’s Maximus x GC LDR’s Sienna) that is typed to burn with nice markings. No pics yet, but I’ll make sure to put them in my report sometime next week. On a side note this buck’s dam GC LDR’s Sienna will listed for sale shortly. She’s done her job, time for someone else to put her to work.
Can’t resist showing one last pic. This is my daughter picking up her first bunny, and this doe had only been handled a few times. Polish really do make good kids’ bunnies.

Convention Entry

Well, I got my entry done for convention. Sadly, I will not be attending in the flesh, but a good friend is taking a few bunnies for me. I’m sending two tort Dutch senior bucks, GC LDR’s Maximus and GC LDR’s Gunner. I’m also sending 5 polish. A black senior buck, GC LDR’s Onyx and a slick black senior doe, with 2 legs, gonna have to come up with a name for her. I also entered two broken senior bucks LDR’s Cowboy and LDR’s JT2, both are for sale, I’ll be posting about them soon. And lastly I entered GC LDR’s Hershey a chocolate senior buck who is looking quite nice. Let’s hope everyone holds their coats or finishes out that last bit in 3 weeks.

Yay! Bunny show this weekend

Happy to say we’re going to a bunny show this weekend. We’ll be showing Dutch at the Triple Crown show in Corralitos on Saturday and both Dutch & Polish in Watsonville on Sunday. Got a few juniors I’m exited about, so hopefully I’ll have a nice report on Monday, with pictures this time too! 😉
Please e-mail if you are looking for any specific sale animals. The sales list here on the blog is not up to date. We have lots for sale, but not a lot of room to take extra bunnies to the show. So definitely give me a heads up if you are looking for something specific. I just might have it available.
